Delaine Hunter
With a clear vision to improve healthcare in North Georgia, DeLaine works tirelessly to advance the mission of the North Georgia Healthcare Center. As its President and CEO, DeLaine's extensive history in the medical field is impressive. Years as President and owner of Occufit, Inc., an on-site medical testing business, DeLaine is able to multi-task, train, and lead all members of the Center's staff. She holds certifications in Occupational Hearing, Pulmonary Function testing, Breath Alcohol, Phlebotomy, MROA, Respirator Clearance, and an Associate's Degree in Pharmacology. Educated at Marshall University, DeLaine is clear in her expectations of faith and family first while providing consistent quality care to the deserving residents of the North Georgia community.
Dr. Smith
Educated at the University of Georgia, the Medical College of Georgia, and Floyd Medical Center, Dr. Smith brings more than 35 years of medicine to the North Georgia Healthcare Center. Holding his medical license in the State of Georgia, Dr. Smith is also a proud member of the American Medical Association, Coosa Clinics Society of Rome, Georgia, Georgia Medical Association, and Chattooga Polk Medical Association. Dr. Smith also has continuing education in the treatment of the terminally ill, Alzheimer’s, HIV/AIDS, alcohol use and abuse, eating disorders, Osteoporosis, and medical ethics. Dr. Smith is a valued member of the NGHCC and prides himself on building healthy relationships with the Center’s patients.
Dr. Jeffery Atkins
Board certified with the American Board of Internal Medicine, Dr. Atkins has extensive experience in ambulatory care and emergency room environments. A graduate of the University of Tennessee, Dr. Atkins recently completed an update in internal medicine continuing education program at Harvard Medical School. His kind and compassionate approach to patient care shows through his actions and attention to detail. In addition to his work at the center, Dr. Atkins is also an Emergency Physician at Erlanger North Hospital in Chattanooga, Tennessee.
Lee Eades
Earning her MSN in Nursing from Kennesaw State University, Lee is a dedicated health provider at the North Georgia Healthcare Center where she provides daily practitioner care. Lee is also an Assistant Professor of Nursing at Dalton State College and is currently a student at the Doctor of Nursing Practice program at the Medical College of Georgia. A seasoned Family Nurse Practitioner, Lee is also a member of Phi Kappa Phi, Sigma Theta Tau, and the Golden Key Honor Society. She is also certified in BCLS, ACLS, and PALS. We value Lee's commitment and drive to meeting the goals of excellent patient care at the NGHC.
Becky Smith
Certified in Medical Assistance and holding her Medical Coding certification, Becky works closely with direct patient care. From lab work to triage, and x-ray to medical records, assisting patients with their immediate medical needs are Becky's areas of expertise. She is an excellent patient advocate, including working with the Center's most vulnerable populations, to guarantee that patient care remains our number one priority.
Shawnta Dandy
Topping the President's List, Shawnta comes to the North Georgia Healthcare Center from the Virginia College School of Business and Health where she studied to become a Registered Medical Assistant. She is skilled in triage, x-ray, patient education, and daily Center activities. However, Shawnta's area of expertise is best served in the Center's full-service Laboratory. She handles all in-house lab testing, in addition to direct patient care and pharmacy assistance.
Teresa Henry
Teresa is a valued member at the Center. As Office Manager, she brings more than 20 years of experience to all phases of patient health, insurance, and managed care. She is an excellent people person, both with clients and staff. Teresa is a Certified Coder, leads the team's patient medical records division, performs daily management tasks, and, just as importantly, brings a positive and caring attitude to every aspect of her work.
Gail Grant
Gail's love of working with the public and children is obvious. Having attended Dalton State College studying Early Childhood Education, she enjoys the Center's fast-paced environment in the front office happily greeting clients and ensuring that adults and children are served well. We are also grateful that Gail's keen computer skills assist with the Center's electronic medical record system designed to improve patient health information.
Hannah McKinney
CNA, CPA, and First Aid certified, Hannah's long-term goals including pediatric nursing after college. She is a friendly face greeting clients as they enter the North Georgia Healthcare Center and we support Hannah as she gains valuable knowledge in the medical field. Her enthusiasm, energy, and "right heart attitude" are contagious.
Greg Giaquinto
Earning his BA in Business Administration, Greg has worked in the medical field for years, including hospital settings and insurance companies. He leads the Center's Physical Therapy Division in addition to lending a hand to North Georgia Healthcare Center's communication needs, growth opportunities, and insurance needs. Greg's enthusiasm and commitment to the Center's mission are evident.
Lisa Gray
With degrees in Psychlogy and Physical Therapy, Lisa's days are filled with treating adult and children's orthopedic and neurological dysfunctions at the North Georgia Healthcare's Physical Therapy department. As a licensed Physical Therapist since 1999, Lisa maintains a commitment to build relationships with patients and work with their unique needs on a daily basis. Her competence is valued at the Center and she is a strong member of the PT team.
Bob Martin
As a part of the Physical Therapy team, Bob is a graduate of the University of Tennessee and holds multi-state Physical Therapy licenses in addition to being a Certified Strength Trainer. His military background and commitment to the health profession makes him the perfect fit for the North Georgia Healthcare environments, Bob brings his "client and care first" philosophy to every therapy patient under his supervision.
Linda Carabo
Originally from South Carolina and relocating to North Georgia, Linda holds a BS in Biology and has worked as a Physical Therapist Assistant prior to joining the NGHC team as an Aquatics Instructor. With years of working with children on the county's swim team, Linda is a pro leading all types of indoor water classes - from Senior swim to swimming lessons, Linda is an asset to the Center.
Bonny List
Bonny brings years of experience to the Center's Aquatics division. She is a seasoned American Red Cross instructor - including CPR/AED, First Aid, Life Guard Training, and Water Safety. Holding her advanced degree in Orthopedic Impairment, Bonny works closely with the school system's children with special needs as an Orthopedic Impairment Specialist. She is a seasoned swimmer and coach who is an excellent advocate for physical health and wellness.
Lisa Hunt
A Magna Cum Laude graduate of the University of Georgia's Pharmacy program, Lisa is responsible for all aspects of the full-service pharmacy at the North Georgia Healthcare Center. She works with all insurance companies to ensure that prescription costs are reasonable and patient needs are met in a timely manner. With extended hours, the NGHC Pharmacy complements the NGHC Medical division by providing seamless office and prescription needs. Lisa is a friendly professional and dedicated Pharmacist who consistently strives to make patient care a priority.
Pam Haynes
A proud Pharmacy graduate of the University of Georgia, Pam brings decades of medical and pharmaceutical experience to the North Georgia Healthcare Center. She is knowledgeable of insurance filings with prescriptions, working with clients, and ensuring that the pharmacy department puts clients first. Patients feel safe knowing that Pam is a skilled Pharmacist with the medical knowledge to make sound decisions.
Sharron Mitchell
Sharon's years in the corporate market have prepared her to serve as the Center's Programs Director. With her BS in Business Administration and years in the insurance industry. Sharron works meticulously to develop, implement, and oversee NGHC education programs. She has organized numerous youth mission projects and brings her love of education and children to the health field by assisting with grant opportunities and community projects. Her commitment to the NGHC mission is evident and we are fortunate to have her on the team.
Donna Jackson
Having been the recipient of millions of dollars in grant awards for community-based organizations, non-profits, and school systems, Donna works diligently to bring vital resources and partnerships to the North Georgia Healthcare Center. Holder her Ed.S. in Leadership Administration and slated to graduate with her doctorate in 2010, Donna's years of leadership and training enhance the Center's commitment to improving health care. As a resource Development Specialist, she is eager to connect needs to resources for the deserving people residing in North Georgia communities.
