Update from NGHCC on Processes Related to COVID–19

March 13, 2020

At North Georgia HealthCare Center (NGHCC) we are committed to the health and safety of all our patients, staff, and visitors as the effects of coronavirus 2019 (COVID–19) continue to expand.

NGHCC has been in contact with other health officials in the state of Georgia and we are monitoring the latest reports from the Centers for Disease Control (CDC) and local government offices. We continue to support local health officials and government leaders as they work to manage the virus.

When telephoning or visiting our facility, you will notice new steps put in place for the protection of all. Please be patient and understanding of this new temporary process.

When calling to make an appointment, you will be asked additional questions before your appointment can be finalized.

Everyone entering our facility, whether a patient or a non-patient, will be asked to complete and sign a written questionnaire regarding recent travel and health symptoms related to fevers and respiratory issues. Click here for the complete form.

Furthermore, here are some of the actions we are taking to help protect our patients, staff, and visitors:

Staying informed

  • Our leadership team we will continue to consult with state and local health about best practices for preparing for and responding to COVID–19
  • We will update you as needed to changes in our operating procedures
  • Look to our website for additional information at

Helping with prevention

  • We ask that you limit the number of individuals you bring to the office visit.
  • If you think you have the Coronavirus (COVID–19), please call ahead before going in person to our facility, or any other facility, unless an urgent ER visit is required.
  • Don’t go to your local emergency department for COVID–19 testing. We have a limited number of test kits at NGHCC. The emergency department is only for those who need the most critical care.*
*If you have chest pain, shortness of breath, dizziness, a severe headache or other potentially life-threatening problems, go to the nearest emergency department or call 911.
Our staff have been asked to limit non-essential business travel to minimize potential exposure to the virus, and we have established self-reporting processes for personal travel.
  • We will not be greeting individuals with a handshake.
  • We will have masks for symptomatic patients.
  • We will continue to clean and disinfect our facilities, as well as exam rooms after each visit.

Serving you on your terms

  • Remember, through our Patient Portal, you can review your health records, see lab results, find the date/time of your next appointment, and communicate with your provider securely and privately. If you don’t have a Patient Portal account, submit a request to activate your personal Patient Portal at this link:

After you request access, it can take up to 24–48 hours for processing.

Patients with a portal account can access the portal from this link as well.

We will continue to closely monitor the situation and evaluate any additional resources needed. For additional information about COVID–19, please visit or your local health department website.

Thank you,
